Crestside is an independent, fan-built app for following women's soccer. We collect
very little, you don't need an account to use it, and we never sell your data, show ads, or track you
across other apps or websites. This page explains — in plain language — exactly what the app does with
data, and the basic terms for using it.
You can use Crestside without an account. Browsing scores, schedules, standings,
stats, news, and most of the app requires no sign-in and no personal information.
If you choose to sign in with Apple (optional)
Signing in unlocks cross-device sync, Fan Zone leaderboards, and opt-in match alerts. When you sign
in, we use Sign in with Apple and request only your email address —
we deliberately do not request your name. You may use Apple's "Hide My Email" private relay if
you prefer. Once signed in, the following is stored on our servers and linked to your account:
Your email address (or Apple private-relay address), to identify your account.
Account and device identifiers — an account ID, a device identifier, and, if you
turn on match alerts, a push-notification token and your time zone (so alerts arrive correctly).
Your app content — your chosen username (shown publicly on Fan Zone
leaderboards), the teams you follow, your notification preferences, and your Fan Zone game progress,
predictions, scores, and achievements.
Anonymous, not linked to you
To keep the app working well, we collect a small amount of information that is not connected
to your identity or account:
Aggregate usage counts — a handful of anonymous event tallies (for example, how
often a feature is opened), with no personal or device identifiers and no IP address stored. This
tells us which parts of the app people use, never who used them.
Diagnostics — anonymous crash, hang, and performance counts that help us find and
fix bugs. These contain no personal identifiers and no message contents.
What we do not collect
Location. The app does not use your device location. Weather shown for a match
is looked up by the stadium's location on our server, not from your phone.
Payment or financial information. Optional tips are processed entirely by Apple
through the App Store — the app never sees your card or payment details.
Contacts, health data, photos, or browsing history. None of these are accessed
or collected.
How we use information
We use the limited information above only to:
Provide the app's features and sync your data across your devices;
Deliver the match alerts you explicitly turn on;
Understand overall, anonymous usage so we can improve the app;
Diagnose crashes and fix bugs.
That's it. We do not use your information to build advertising profiles, and we never use it to
identify you across other apps or services.
What we don't do
No ads. The app shows no advertising.
We never sell or rent your data. To anyone. Ever.
No third-party advertising or tracking SDKs.
No cross-app or cross-website tracking, and no sharing with data brokers.
Service providers
A few trusted companies help run the app. They process data only to provide their service to us, not
for their own purposes:
Apple — Sign in with Apple, push notifications, Game Center, and App Store tips.
Supabase — the secure database and authentication that stores your account data.
Cloudflare — the infrastructure that delivers live data to the app.
The app also displays public information from third-party sources — such as sports scores, schedules,
and public social and media posts from clubs, players, and reporters. That content is governed by those
sources' own terms, and viewing it in the app sends them no personal information about you.
Your choices & rights
Use anonymously. Don't sign in, and no account data is created.
Alerts are opt-in. Match notifications are off until you turn them on, and can be
turned off anytime in the app or in iOS Settings.
Delete your account and data. You can delete your account from within the app.
Doing so removes your stored account data and revokes the app's Sign in with Apple access.
We keep account data only while your account exists. Data is stored with our service providers
(in the United States) and protected in transit with encryption.
Children
Crestside is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information
from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we
will remove it.
Terms of Use
By using Crestside, you agree to the following:
Informational use. Scores, schedules, stats, and other data are provided for
general information and may be delayed or contain errors. Always confirm official match times,
results, and broadcast details with the league or official broadcasters.
Personal, non-commercial use. The app is for your personal, non-commercial use.
Fair use. Don't attempt to scrape, overload, reverse-engineer, or otherwise
misuse the app or its underlying services.
Intellectual property. Team, league, competition, and broadcaster names and logos
are the trademarks of their respective owners, shown here only to identify the teams and matches you
follow.
Provided "as is." The app is provided without warranties of any kind. To the
fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any decisions made based on information in
the app.
Affiliation disclaimer
Crestside is an independent, fan-made app. It is not affiliated with,
endorsed by, or sponsored by the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL), any club, any
broadcaster, or any other organization. All league, club, competition, and broadcast names and logos
are the property of their respective owners.
Changes to this policy
We may update this page from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the "Last updated" date at the
top. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
